Slavisa Jokanovic has insisted that Icelandic Euro 2016 hero Ragnar Sigurdsson will need to be patient as he waits for a chance in the Fulham first team.

The Cottagers’ head coach left the giant centre back out of his side to face Nottingham Forest – and Sigurdsson has so far failed to become a regular fixture in the Fulham starting line-up since joining from Krasnodar back in August.

Jokanovic joked: “If I can start with 14, it would be a fabulous tactic. But I cannot compare Russia with the Championship, I don’t know Russia. I am working with him, and when I consider he starts – then he will, that’s it. It’s similar to that with Petsos or Cyriac. Everybody has to be ready for their turn.”
