Lucas Piazon will extend his successful loan spell at Fulham from Chelsea until the end of the season over the next couple of days, head coach Slavisa Jokanovic has confirmed.

The Brazilian forward has made eighteen appearances since making the switch from Stamford Bridge in late August and his initial loan deal expires tomorrow. Piazon, who has quickly become popular with the Fulham fans for his passion and energetic running, has already tweeted that he expects to remain at Craven Cottage for the remainder of the season and, after confirming that a deal is imminent, Jokanovic called on the Fulham board to match the ambition of his players and add to his squad over the coming weeks.

He told his post-match press conference:

He [Piazon] is going to sign an extension. I am happy with my team. But we have to show some kind of ambition and we have to bring some additions to this team. We are talking about two or three players.

The players need that help. They played very good today but in front of us is a tough competition. I expect Fulham are going to make some additions for this team, show ambition and not surrender. In front of us is 21 games and our mission is to push this team to the highest level.
