Four young Kaizer Chiefs footballers will spend part of January training with Fulham at Motspur Park, the South African club have confirmed today.
Centre back Lorenzo Gordinho, teenage striker Ryan Moon, centre forward Emmanuel Letlotlo and central defender Siyabonga Ngezana have jetted off to London to join up with the Championship club whilst the South African domestic season is on a winter break. Kaizer Chiefs are currently in fourth place in the Premiership table at the halfway point, just a single point behind leaders Cape Town City. The length of the quartet’s spell with Fulham has yet to be revealed and there is no suggestion that this is anything more than a training opportunity for talented youngsters.
Fulham have previously had South African internationals Andre Arendse and Kagisho Dikagacoi on their books. The club frequently offers the use of the Motspur Park facilities to foreign players and clubs, although the Kaizer Chiefs players are extended to train alongside Slavisa Jokanovic’s first team squad. This deal is believed to the result of negotiations between Fulham and their former right back John Pantsil, who took over as assistant manager of the Chiefs in June.
