Referee James Linington took the curious decision to abandon Reading’s fixture with Fulham after half time tonight just as the fog that enveloped the Madjeski Stadium appeared to be clearing.

The promotion rivals had played out a goalless first period in challenging conditions that appeared to be easing as the players came out for the second half. Linington had twice consulted with both benches during the first half but it was still a surprise that the match was abandoned. A date for the rescheduled fixture has yet to be set.
