Fulham will once again be without centre back Tomas Kalas for their crucial Championship clash with fellow promotion hopefuls Reading on Friday.

The on-loan Chelsea defender suffered a hamstring injury during the 2-2 draw against Derby County just over a week ago and is expected to be ruled out for around another fortnight. The Czech international has been a key part of Fulham’s significantly improved defence this season and Fulham will be hoping that they fare better than when he injured his other hamstring earlier this season – when his absence sparked a seven-game winless streak.

Kalas, who sat out the 2-0 win at Ipswich Town on Boxing Day, is the only major absentee although Slavisa Jokanovic has hinted that he may freshen up his side to deal with the festive fixture schedule. Ryan Fredericks, who was on the bench at Portman Road, will be pushing for a return at right back and Lucas Piazon might also feature against his old side.
