Slavisa Jokanovic has recommended Fulham sign Chris Martin on a permanent deal from Derby.

The head coach complained bitterly during the summer transfer window that Whites data analyst Craig Kline ignored potential targets because they failed to tick enough boxes on what was thought to be required.

One of those signings was Martin, a deadline day signing which saw the Rams striker join on loan for the season, although there is a clause that can see Fulham make the move a permanent one.

The decision does not rest with Jokanovic, but he believes that making the deal permanent is one that needs to be done.

He said: “It’s not in my hands. My opinion is we need to sign a permanent deal with him. This is my opinion. It’s a decision that is in the hands of the club.”
