Fulham defender Ryan Fredericks should be ready for a return to the side when Fulham return from the international break next weekend.

The former Spurs full-back has not featured yet this term after picking up an ankle injury during the 3-0 pre-season win over Brighton back in July.

Having undergone surgery soon after, the club estimated Fredericks would be out for 10-12 weeks – and he is bang on course to be back fighting for his shirt.

He worked with the first team for the first time since his injury in the run up to the QPR game, and has since then been in full training.

Whites boss Slavisa Jokanovic said: “We expect Ryan will be an option for games after international break.”

Having joined from Bristol City just over a year ago, beating QPR to his signature, Fredericks vied with Jazz Richards for the right back role but was also hit by a catalogue of niggles.

He will be hoping to be involved once more as Fulham travel to Barnsley on Saturday before hosting Norwich City next Tuesday.

Although Richards has since departed to Cardiff, Fredericks will have to oust Belgian international Denis Odoi to gain his place back in the side.
