Slavisa Jokanovic rued Fulham’s late defensive lapse at Leeds as they surrendered their 100 per cent record despite ‘total control’.
Chris Wood’s injury-time overhead kick rescued a point for Leeds at Elland Road after Tom Cairney had curled Fulham in front. The setback represented a hint of the late goals that had littered Fulham’s past two seasons, but Jokanovic hailed his team’s display as their best of the season so far.
We are frustrated and disappointed after this late goal we conceded. But in general my team played the best game of the season so far. We had everything under control and created chances. I can be satisfied with many things.
We didn’t score more goals during the game, and then at the end they score one typical Championship goal. One big centre-back touched the ball, another big striker then hits a bicycle kick to score the goal. We hit the woodwork two times and we weren’t lucky enough to score more goals.
We had the game under control. We lost the control in one second in the last moment, but generally we’re driving the ship in the right direction. Generally I can be happy with how my team competed today, how my team played the game.
Great goal but one Swallow does not make a summer, he must start scoring on a more regular basis, especially headed chances that he gets, that is the main reason why we bought him, Antonsson will be this seasons top scorer by a mile.
I was pretty impressed that he kept getting into the positions to score goals, to be honest, especially after missing that header at the back post. Fulham had a player who struggled to score for his first season at club, cupped his ear to the fans when he did and wasn’t universally liked. His name was Bobby Zamora and went on to take us to a European final.
