Fulham have been handed a home tie against Championship rivals Bristol City in the draw for the third round of the EFL Cup tonight.
The Whites saw off the challenge of Premier League Middlesbrough after extra time earlier this evening courtesy of a fine winner from Lasse Vigen Christensen, who signed a new contract earlier this week. The Robins who won away at Scunthorpe United – also after extra time – thanks to a goal from on-loan Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham will travel to Craven Cottage for the third round fixture in the week commencing Monday 19 September.
By a strange quick of the fixture computer, the EFL Cup tie will come just days before the two sides meet each other in a Championship fixture at the Cottage on September 24.
