Fulham have pulled out of a proposed deal to sign Emmanuel Adebayor, according to a report from the BBC this afternoon.

The Whites were linked with a shock move for the Arsenal striker, who is a free agent following his release by Crystal Palace this summer, this morning and had began talks with the Togo international’s representatives in London. Adebayor was believed to be keen on remaining in the capital and open to the idea of dropping down to the Championship but the BBC’s sports reporter David Ornstein has recently reported that the proposed deal is now off.

Adebayor, who scored one goal in 15 appearances for Palace last season, had been a household name during his Premier League spells with the Eagles, Tottenham, Manchester City – and most famously – Arsenal. Fulham, who are unbeaten this season under Slavisa Jokanovic, are still actively hunting for forward replacements for the departed Moussa Dembele and Ross McCormack having been linked with moves for Chris Martin and Cyriac most recently.
