Charlton Athletic are mulling over whether to make a move for Fulham full-back Jack Grimmer, according to reports this evening.

The League One side are hoping to sign the Scottish under-21 international on a permanent basis as Grimmer has entered the final year of his contract at Craven Cottage and has struggled to make a first-team impression since Slavisa Jokanovic replaced Kit Symons at the helm. Grimmer, who has made eighteen appearances for the Whites, has got most of his first-team action on loan of late, impressing during two spells at Shrewsbury, with whom he scored a famous FA Cup winner against Sheffield Wednesday last season.

Fulham are thought to be reluctant to let Grimmer, who has been highly rated at Motspur Park since Fulham won the race to sign him from Aberdeen back in 2012, leave permanently and would prefer another loan deal for the 22 year-old, who can also operate in central defence.
