French forward Moussa Dembele scored so regularly for Fulham’s youth teams that it was a surprise that it took until Martin Jol’s last game in charge for him to be handed a senior debut. The injury Dembele sustained as a substitute at Upton Park effectively ended his season, but the precocious talent really came into his own when he struck up a sensational partnership with Ross McCormack once Kit Symons had been promoted to first team manager. Dembele scored seventeen goals in 43 appearances as he and the Scot saved the Whites from relegation to the Championship under Slavisa Jokanovic but he turned down a new contract to join Celtic in the summer of 2016 for a nominal fee.
