Fulham have rejected Wolves’ attempts to take striker Matt Smith on loan.

Wanderers were hoping to sign Smith from their Championship rivals until the end of the season but the Cottagers are determined to keep him at Craven Cottage.

Fulham have one of the best strike forces in the division, with Ross McCormack and Moussa Dembele both ahead of Smith in the pecking order.

Wolves felt they had a chance of signing the 26-year-old, but Fulham have rebuffed their approach.

Kenny Jackett has been looking for a potent frontman all season, as his side have struggled to find a goalscorer throughout the campaign so far, but it seems the Wolves boss will have to search elsewhere if he is to bolster his attack.
