Fulham Head Coach Slavisa Jokanovic praised Fulham’s desire in earning what could be an important point at Play-Off hopefuls Birmingham City on Saturday.

The Whites led through Rohan Ince’s first-half effort but had to settle for a draw when Michael Morrison headed an equaliser shortly after the break.

The result leaves the Whites a point above the drop zone as Milton Keynes Dons – Fulham’s next opponents – slipped into the bottom three.

“In front of us is a very important period,” Jokanovic told the press. “We have to fight for all the points. We had some chances, Birmingham some too. I cannot be satisfied [with a point] but we need to keep going.

“We were very competitive today. At this moment, we’ve got a month and a half until the end of the season. We played good football against a team in the top half, but we didn’t win. It’s a point and if you cannot win three, it’s important you get one.

“Our future is in our hands and we’ll fight until the last second. Let’s be brave, intelligent and play with desire like we did today.

“We have to forget everything that has happened and start again and try and get all the points in front of us. We need to be all together, I’ll need people who started today and I’ll need people who were on the bench or in the stand.”

Fulham were dealt a blow prior to kick-off when Fernando Amorebieta was injured in the warm-up. He was replaced by Dan Burn in the starting XI.

“Fernando has some kind of ankle problem,” confirmed Jokanovic. “I expect he’ll be available for the next game.”
