Kit Symons feels that Moussa Dembele’s blistering pace could be a useful weapon in the Championship.

The French forward, who has enjoyed a stellar youth career at Motspur Park, had fleeting glimpses of first team football under Martin Jol and Felix Magath. Symons, who took Dembele through the academy ranks, believes that the talented striker could enjoy a breakthrough season at Craven Cottage.

“Moussa’s biggest asset or quality or weapon is his pace. He’s one of the few players that we’ve got who have got real genuine pace to burn. He’s getting an opportunity at this moment in time and it’s down to him to take it. I was pleased for him to get his goal against Sheffield United, but he’s had quite a lot of chances, and some he should have finished better.”
