Fulham defender Sean Kavanagh has been named in the Republic of Ireland’s Under-21 squad for their forthcoming matches against Qatar and Andorra.
The Irish face the Qatari Under-23 side in a friendly at Bury’s Gigg Lane on Friday evening before travelling to Andorra for their second European Championship qualifier on Tuesday night. The Irish triumphed 1-0 in the first match between the two sides in Group Two.
Kavanagh, who has won two previous caps for his country at this level, has yet to play for the Fulham first team this season having only recently recovered from an ankle injury but made seventeen appearances during his breakthrough campaign last year, scoring a superb goal against Norwich City.
