Fulham have reportedly rejected a £10m bid from Sheffield Wednesday for Scottish striker Ross McCormack.
The 28 year-old forward only extended his contract at Craven Cottage a fortnight ago, but Wednesday pressed ahead with an audacious offer anyway. It is believed the move was met with short shrift by Fulham, who will not countenance losing last season’s top scorer at a time when they are seeking to strengthen their squad before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
McCormack, who scored his first league goal of the season as Fulham won 3-1 at Rotherham yesterday, scored 19 goals last term and was voted the fans’ player of the year after joining from Leeds United in a deal reportedly worth as much as £11m last summer.
