Fulham have this afternoon confirmed the signing of experienced midfielder Jamie O’Hara on a one-year contract.
The former England under-21 international joins on a free transfer having turned down Blackpool’s offer of a new deal. O’Hara played 27 games and scored two goals but couldn’t prevent Blackpool from being relegated from the Championship last season, although his form and whole-hearted performances saw him voted the fans’ player of the season.
The 28 year-old, who made his name after coming through the youth ranks at Tottenham, spent three years at Wolves after a successful loan spell at Moulineux in 2011. Whilst on loan at Portsmouth, he also helped the south coast club reach the 2010 FA Cup. O’Hara becomes Fulham’s fifth summer signing having been widely linked with a move to Craven Cottage and he has already been training with the club for the past fortnight.
He told the club’s official website:
I’m absolutely delighted. I’ve had a couple of weeks training with the team and I really felt I wanted to get to this club. I’ve loved it, I’ve worked hard and now it’s paid off. I have to thank the manager for giving me the opportunity.”
