Fulham have tabled a bid of around £1.75m for Brentford defender James Tarkowski, according to reports in the tabloids.

This morning’s Sun claims that Tarkowski is unsettled at Griffin Park after the departure of Mark Warburton at the end of the season. The 22 year-old was a key figure in the Brentford defence that helped the Bees reach a play-off semi-final a year after being promoted from League One, making 38 appearances and scoring eight goals. He joined Brentford from Oldham, where he made 89 appearances in three years.

Kit Symons will be keen to improve a defence that was the second worst in the Championship last season, conceding 83 goals. Local press reports suggest that Brentford, who rate Tarkowski highly, will hold for a deal worth £3m,
