Fulham want out-of-contract Millwall keeper David Forde to offer competition to Marcus Bettinnelli next term.

Maarten Stekelenburg, who spent last season on loan at Monaco, is expected to leave Craven Cottage permanently this summer with Southampton rumoured as a destination for the Dutch international. Hungarian veteran Gabor Kiraly looks likely to be released and Richard Lee, who spent past of the last campaign on loan from Brentford, has now hung up his boots.

That leaves Cottagers’ head coach Kit Symons without experienced back up to Bettinelli, who had an outstanding breakthrough season in the first team after seizing the number one jersey from Kiraly. Forde has plenty of Championship experience, having made 291 appearances for Millwall and won 23 senior international caps for the Republic of Ireland. Press reports claim that Symons has already discussed a move to Fulham with the soon-to-be free agent.
