Fulham plan to bring in a chief football officer to work with manager Kit Symons.

The former academy boss was confirmed as the permanent successor to Felix Magath last week after an impressive spell in caretaker charge.

Alan Curbishley has been tipped for a sensational return to Craven Cottage, and Symons says the ex-Charlton chief would be a good addition.

“I met Al a few times over the years and when he had his short spell here when Rene was in charge,” he said.

“His record speaks for itself and is a good football guy. He knows the game very well.

“It’s still part of the plans for a chief football officer to come in, which I think is a great idea to take the club forward.

“That will be someone I expect to work very closely with. This will be a club appointment, but it won’t be rushed. When the right person is pinpointed then they will be brought in.”
