Championship side Fulham have signed Manchester City youngster Seko Fofana on loan until 31 January.

The 19-year-old midfielder joined the Premier League club from French side FC Lorient last year.

A French youth international, Fofana featured 35 times for City’s development squad last season and has been a regular in the current campaign.

The teenager told of his delight at moving to Craven Cottage: “I’m happy to be here. It’s a pleasure for me to be with a professional team, a professional squad and to be able to train every day with professional players, so I’m happy to be at Fulham. I want the team to win as many games as possible and I want to get as much game time as I can. We want to win a lot of games because we want to get promoted to the Premier League.

Fofana revealed he took the advice of Moussa Dembele before completing his loan switch. “Before I came we spoke together and he told me good things about the club. So that was another motivation to come, and I’m happy.”

Fofana could make his debut for the Whites in their Championship match at Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
