Fulham caretaker boss Kit Symons has promised a clean slate to his Fulham squad.

The Cottagers under 21 chief was put in temporary charge on Thursday after owner Shahid Khan sacked Felix Magath following a disastrous start to the season.

Symons has already welcomed outcast Bryan Ruiz in from the cold and says the shirts in his side are up for grabs.

He said: “It’s definitely a clean slate for everyone. I know a lot of new managers will say that but I want to pick the best team possible for Fulham.

“I don’t care who the players are or where they’ve come from, that’s irrelevant to me now. Anyone who is here and is available to be picked, if I think they will be an asset and a benefit to the team I will pick them.”

Symons will get a chance to stake a claim for the job on a permanent basis when Fulham take on Blackburn this afternoon.
