Felix Magath will be sacked if Fulham lose at league leaders Nottingham Forest this evening, according to the Evening Standard.
Fulham go into the game at the City Ground bottom of the table after losing five of their opening six Championship matches. More than 2,000 travelling fans chanted ‘You’re getting sacked in the morning’ as the Whites were being well beaten by Reading on Saturday and, although that didn’t prove prescient, the Fulham board are preparing to dispense with Magath’s services should they lose again tonight.
In a reversal of the club’s previous position, Magath has been told he will be replaced unless Fulham can get a result at the City Ground with the Londoners preparing to promote under-21 coach Kit Symonds as a caretaker whilst they look to make a permanent appointment. The Standard names Tim Sherwood, Chris Hughton, Neil Lennon and Steve Clarke as contenders to succeed the German head coach at Craven Cottage.
