Heerenveen forward Alfred Finnbogason has revealed his disappointment with his club after a proposed January move to Fulham failed to materialise.
The Iceland international has been in fine form this season and is the Eredivisie’s top scorer with 20 goals already for De Superfriezen, who currently lie fifth in the table.
The 24-year-old’s goalscoring exploits attracted interest from a whole host of clubs throughout the transfer window including Newcastle, Roma and Everton.
Finnbogason made no secret of his frustration when asked about how close he came to a move to Fulham in the closing days of the transfer window.
“They [Heerenveen] always said they wanted £10m for me and now they didn’t want co-operate,” he told Omrop Friesland. “I am disappointed in Heerenveen because I can’t play in the Premier League.”
