German midfielder Lewis Holtby is having a medical with Fulham this afternoon ahead of a proposed loan move from Tottenham Hotspur.

The attacking midfielder only moved to White Hart Lane twelve months ago but has barely featured under new Spurs boss Tim Sherwood. Holtby made no secret of his desire to play first-team football as he still holds an outside chance of making the Germany World Cup squad and, although former club Schalke were keen to take him back to his homeland, it appears as though Fulham have won the race to sign the creative midfielder.

Holtby was spotted taking part in first-team training at Motspur Park so the deal should be confirmed before tonight’s transfer deadline.
