Darren Bent dismissed any pressure on manager Martin Jol after scoring the winner as Fulham claimed a precious three points against Stoke City afternoon.
The on-loan Aston Villa striker came off the bench to slot home the only goal of the game seven minutes from time at Craven Cottage and lift Fulham out of the relegation zone after a difficult start to the season. Bent insisted afterwards that the Dutchman retained the full confidence of his players:
I doubt he was under pressure. You’ve got to give managers time and I’m sure the club will give Martin Jol all the time he needs. As players we’re all behind him 100 per cent. He’s the right man for the job and we love having him here.
