Martin Jol is looking to loan out third-choice goalkeeper Neil Etheridge once Maarten Stekelenburg returns to full fitness.

Stekelenburg is expected to be out for a couple of weeks after severely bruising his shoulder in a collision with Jozy Altidore as Fulham beat Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on the opening day of the new season. The Dutch international’s injury means that Etheridge will be needed at Craven Cottage as cover for David Stockdale, who is expected to replace Stekelenburg in goal for Saturday’s London derby with Arsenal.

Jol is keen to offer the Philippines international, who has made just one first-team appearance for Fulham, some regular first-team football after he played 12 games for Bristol Rovers on loan last season. The 23 year-old has also spent time on loan at Charlton Athletic and Leatherhead with his only start for Fulham coming in the Europa League against Odense two years ago.

We can’t put anyone on loan at the moment, but maybe that will change. Neil could go to a lower league club.
