Fulham winger Alexander Kacaniklic will miss the start of the season after injuring his hamstring in the defeat by Werder Bremen this afternoon.

The Swedish international was taken off after feeling his hamstring following a heavy challenge midway through the first half of a tight game that settled by Nils Petersen ten minutes after half time.

Manager Martin Jol told Fulham’s official website: “Kaca has made a lot of big steps and progress with us, but he had to come off with a hamstring injury. Hopefully it is not too bad, but he may be out for a couple of weeks. That is not what you want from pre-season, as you want to go the camp with all of your players fit. We managed that in Costa Rica, but not here”.
