Fulham winger Alex Kacaniklic scored the winner as Sweden edged past Macedonia tonight in an international friendly this evening.

Macedonia goalkeeper Tome Pachovski kept his side in the game as the hosts dominated the first half, laying siege to the visitors’ goal. Pachovski made two fine saves from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and, after Macedonia almost took the lead through a rare counter attack, Kacaniklic put Sweden in front in the 39th minute. The Fulham man was left totally unmarked in the centre of the goal six yards out to nod home Ibrahamovic’s inviting cross from the left wing. Kacaniklic almost doubled his tally just before half-time but saw a rising shot hit the top of the crossbar.
