Fulham will attend a Home Office hearing on Friday over a work permit for Dnipro midfielder Derek Boateng as the Ghana midfielder’s move inches ever closer.

Martin Jol has been tracking the 29 year-old defensive midfielder, who can also play in central defence, for more than a year after Boateng impressed during Dnipro’s Europa League qualifying defeat by Fulham. The former AIK, Getafe and Beitar Jerusalem midfielder has slipped down the pecking order at his current Ukrainian club after falling out of favour with manager Juande Ramos – and is keen to complete his transfer to Craven Cottage.

Boateng has undergone a medical at Motspur Park and, as a regular in the Ghana national side, should be successful with a work permit application.
