Steve Sidwell has called on Fulham to make a positive response after seeing his side fall from sixth to 13th in the table following a run of seven games without a win.

The midfielder put in a shift and a half at home to Tottenham on Saturday but even his hard graft could not prevent a 3-0 defeat which left Fulham with just one point from their past four games.

Sidwell said: “The first half was very even, our gameplan worked. But they were three disappointing goals in the second half.

The result was a bit harsh considering the effort and the performance. Now we’re on a bit of a bad run so we have to start picking up. We have to dust ourselves down and go again next week.”

Fulham play Newcastle at Craven Cottage next Monday when Brede Hangeland will return from a three-match ban and Bryan Ruiz should be back from injury.
