Fulham striker Hugo Rodallega believes Queens Park Rangers are the ideal next opponents to help Fulham finally recover their early season form.

Rodallega proved to be the match winner in Monday night’s 2-1 victory over Newcastle United, which saw the Craven Cottage side claim their first win in eight games and score their first goals in five hours.

The striker now feels it sets his side up for a derby with a bit of edge to it, given QPR’s ongoing failure to claim a win.

“It was good to get back to winning ways, but now we need to build on that,” Rodallega said. “We want three points against QPR this Saturday. It’s a big game, and as a derby it is one everyone wants to win.

“We know that this is a game that means a lot to the fans, so hopefully we can make them happy with another victory.

“QPR have had a difficult season so far, but we will take nothing for granted. They will be hungry for the points, but we have to make sure that we want them even more. It will be a tough game, but we will be ready to take them on.”
