Fulham could be tempted into signing Nigel Reo-Coker after Mahamadou Diarra was ruled out for the remainder of the season having suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury on international duty with Mali.
Cottagers’ boss Martin Jol has seen several of his key midfielders from last term depart for pastures new including Moussa Dembélé, Clint Dempsey, Danny Murphy and Dickson Etuhu. The Dutch coach has already drafted in Giorgos Karagounis on a short-term deal and is now considering a move for Reo-Coker, who is currently a free agent after leaving Bolton Wanderers in the summer.
Reo-Coker had been heavily linked with a move to Spain in the close season but rumoured interest from Sevilla and Hamburg came to nothing. He has been training with Charlton Athletic to maintain his fitness levels, but Addicks boss Chris Powell has dismissed any chance of Reo-Coker signing a deal at The Valley.
