Martin Jol has handed Alex Brister a first chance to impress in the first team in Fulham’s first pre-season friendly against HB Køge in Leipzig this afternoon.
The Epsom-born Academy graduate forms part of an experimental back four that also includes Matthew Briggs with Chris Baird partnering Rafik Halliche in central defence in front of captain Mark Schwarzer. Marcel Gecov and Alex Kacaniklic are the youngsters mixed with experienced heads in Dickson Etuhu and Simon Davies in midfield, while young strikers Laurie Dalla Valle and Marcello Trotta are paired together up front.
