I’m not going to say much about the game yesterday. My first appearance at the Cottage was pretty much a day to forget for the Whites and left my dad cringing at the money he paid for the whole trip. But something happened yesterday that puts everything into perspective for us fans and the whole footballing family. I’m sure you have all heard by now the terrible news about Fabrice Muamba yesterday, having a heart attack on the pitch at the tender age of 23, news which practically brought me, and I’m sure thousands of others, to tears. He is now in critical condition in the intensive care unit in London Chest Hospital and needs the prayers of everyone. The guy was fit as a fiddle and again highlights the need for young sports people to have heart screening because without them there is just no other way you will find out about a problem before it is too late. We were encouraged in school to get them because of an 18yearold guy having a heart attack while playing sport at the weekend but now I am thinking of bringing it to the sports union at my uni to try and encourage people to think seriously about it.

But for now, Muamba and his family need our prayers. So please, pray for Muamba!
