Brede Hangeland will miss Norway’s friendly against Northern Ireland tomorrow night after feeling discomfort in his thigh during a training session this morning.

The Fulham defender began the warm up in Belfast earlier but was withdrawn from the session after about five minutes. Norway coach Egil Olsen says the national team captain has suffered a light thigh injury and will not be named in the squad for Michael O’Neill’s first game as Northern Ireland boss at Windsor Park tomorrow night. The problem is not thought to be serious enough to rule Hangeland out of Fulham’s home game with Wolves on Sunday.
