Fulham are close to agreeing a deal to sign Scottish youth international Jack Grimmer from Aberdeen, according to the Scottish Sun.

The Premier League club have nearly tied up a pre-contract agreement with the 17 year-old midfielder that would see him move south at the end of the season. Aberdeen, who have nurtured Grimmer since he joined their youth team set-up at the age of 12, have admitted defeat in their bid to try and tie down the teenager to a long-term deal.

Fulham are expected to pay around £250,000 in compensation for the Dons’ youngest-ever player, who made his first-team debut at the age of 16 years, two months and 13 days against Rangers in April 2010. Grimmer, whose current deal expires at the end of this campaign, has made four appearances for Craig Brown’s side so far this season.
