Fulham are leading the race to sign Aberdeen youngster Jack Grimmer, according to Sky Sports.

The club’s youngest ever player is poised to turn down a new contract at Pittodrie as he would prefer to further his footballing education south of the border. The versatile Scottish youth international, who can play either in defence or midfield, made his debut for the Dons in April 2010 aged only 16 years, 2 months and 13 days.

Aberdeen had been keen to tie the 17 year-old down to a long-term deal but it looks as though Grimmer will opt to move on. Sky suggest that, although a number of Premier League clubs have been monitoring the youngster’s progress closely, Fulham are currently favourites to signature Grimmer’s signature.
