The Football Association have charged Luis Suarez with improper conduct after his one-figured salute to the Fulham fans following Monday night’s game at Craven Cottage.
The Uruguayan striker gestured to supporters in the Johnny Haynes Stand as he left the pitch after the final whistle after Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat. He has until 4pm on Monday 12 December to respond to the charge.
Liverpool have also been charged with failing to control their players after Jay Spearing’s red card in the same game. Players surrounded referee Kevin Friend after he showed Spearing a straight red for a lunge at Moussa Dembele, with goalkeeper Pepe Reina sprinting out of his area to remonstrate with the official. Liverpool also have until 4pm on 12 December to respond to that charge.
Absolutely pathetic charging LFC for failing to control their players!!! Hows about we charge the referees association with failing to control the pathetic examples of human beings that are their employees.
sad sad team
he’s such a talent, why does he act like such a fool on the pitch.
Whilst I admire Daglish for playing attcking football away from home and sticking to these principles even when reduced to ten men (I dont think his substitutions were in any way tactically naiive – I just think he still fancied a gamble on all 3 points) – he has shown his blind spot around Suarez. Sometimes you need to accept that regardless of public loyalties, certain stupid behaviour is unnaceptable for a role model premiership footballer. Better to say things like ‘totally wrong… internal disciplinary matter… blah, blah, blah’ and then quietly drop it. All this crap about ‘integrity’ does neither Daglish, LFC or Suarez any favours at all
