Fulham are in discussions with West Ham about a possible £4m move for Mark Noble after Martin Jol identified the midfielder as his preferred long-term successor to Danny Murphy.

The Whites have watched Noble extensively this season and the Daily Mail reports this morning that they have made an official approach to the Hammers about the 24 year-old midfielder. It remains to be seen whether Sam Allardyce would countenance allowing a key member of his side to leave Upton Park in the middle of their promotion push. The paper suggests that further talks are planned between the clubs ahead of the transfer window reopening – and Fulham may follow these with a formal offer.
