Martin Jol dismissed speculation surrounding Bobby Zamora’s Fulham future, insisting that he has never had a problem with the England striker.

Zamora was left out of the Fulham squad for the Boxing Day draw at Chelsea this afternoon and Jol was at pains to attribute his absence to the striker’s niggling Achilles problem. Newspaper reports have suggested that Zamora and Jol have had a falling out, leading to speculation that the former West Ham forward will be on his way out of Craven Cottage in the January transfer window. The Fulham manager insists that he has never had a problem with Zamora and that there is ‘no big issue’ with the striker.

It’s only speculation. I don’t know what will happen [in January]. I don’t think there is a big issue [with Zamora].

Don’t forget he had injury problems with his Achilles’ heel, so [his absence today] is nothing to do with nothing [the speculation surrounding Zamora].
