Brede Hangeland feels Fulham need fear no one after they battled to an important 1-0 win over Liverpool last night.

Martin Jol’s side sealed only their third league win of the season thanks to Clint Dempsey’s late winner at Craven Cottage and Hangeland believes they can continue to pick up points during December. The month sees tricky ties against Chelsea and Manchester United but the Norwegian centre back says Fulham are confident in their ability to match the bigger names.

We have difficult games coming up but I think the way we’ve played against Liverpool and Arsenal have shown it doesn’t matter who we play because we’re just as likely to pick up points.

Much has been made of the contentious dismissal of Jay Spearing in the wake of Liverpool’s defeat but Hangeland felt Fulham deserved a slice of luck after not getting the rub of the green in their home games so far this season.

It was about time luck turned in our favour because the last few home games have been hard to take. We should’ve beaten Everton and Tottenham and if we had another six points everyone would be really happy. There’s a fine line between success and failure.

I watched the sending-off again and it’s one of those where it could be a yellow or a red card. It’s more about how he [Spearing] followed through. I’m sure they will be disappointed with it but it gave us a big advantage.
