The Daily Mirror links Fulham with a £1m move for Nottingham Forest right back Chris Gunter.

Martin Jol is keen to strengthen his options at right back after Zdenek Grygera ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament against Tottenham back in November. With the Czech full-back likely to miss the remainder of the season, Jol wants to bring in another right back to challenge Stephen Kelly and Chris Baird and the Mirror intimates that he has asked his scouts to take a closer look at the Welsh international.

Gunter, 22, began his career at Cardiff City before signing for Tottenham for £2m in January 2008. He made only five league appearances in his year at White Hart Lane, being loaned out to Nottingham Forest and making the move to the City Ground permanent for a fee of £1.75m in July 2009. Gunter, who has won 35 international caps for Wales, has played in 132 games for Forest, scoring two goals for the club. It is likely that the Championship side would hold out for much more than the mere £1m fee quoted in the article should Fulham make an official approach.
