The Sunday Mirror links Fulham with a possible move for Sunderland midfielder Craig Gardner.
The paper speculates that Martin Jol could be tempted to add additional cover for Danny Murphy and Steve Sidwell in January and that Gardner, who has only started five league games for Sunderland this season, could be leaving the Stadium of Light in the forthcoming transfer window. The 25 year-old moved to the north east from relegated Birmingham in the summer, but was sold from Aston Villa to their bitter rivals by new Sunderland manager Martin O’Neill.
Fulham have also been linked with a £4m move for West Ham midfielder Mark Noble over the past couple of days. Some reports have suggested that the clubs have opened talks over a deal for the former England under-21 international.
