Simon Davies will play his first game for four months this afternoon as he begins his comeback from injury for the reserves against West Brom.

The Welsh midfielder has missed most of Martin Jol’s reign at Craven Cottage after seriously injuring his knee in the Fulham manager’s first game in charge against NSI Runavik in June. The 32 year-old has undergone surgery to try and clear up persistent pain in his knee and has recently returned to full training. Jol hopes Davies can be in contention for a first-team return within the next couple of weeks.

Young left-back Matthew Briggs is also likely to feature for the reserves at Motspur Park this afternoon.
