Young Fulham striker Richard Peniket has signed for Hereford United on a month’s loan.

The Welsh forward signed for Fulham in April 2009 after the Whites beat off strong competition from the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle to bring him to London from Walsall. The 6ft 3in forward has been capped by Wales at under-19 level and has recently been included in the Welsh under-21 international squad. Unsurprisingly given his height, Peniket is strong in the air, but is also highly regarded for his movement and finishing ability.

Peniket, who had been a regular in the Fulham youth side that reached the FA Youth Cup quarter-finals in 2010, was reported to be interesting Wolves, Birmingham and Glasgow Rangers in the summer. He has made one appearance for the reserves so far this season and has already lined up for new club in their reserve friendly against the Glenn Hoddle Academy on Tuesday afternoon.

Hereford are currently 20th in League Two with sixteen points from sixteen games. Peniket is expected to go straight into the squad for Saturday’s home game against second-placed Crawley Town.
