Club press officers must hate international weeks. An errant player makes a statement to a newspaper from their homeland and all hell breaks loose. So it was today with Moussa Dembele’s suggestion that he would be interested in a move to Tottenham because it would be ‘a step up for him’.
Quick as a flash a retraction of sorts appears on the Fulham website.

I want to assure the manager, the fans and of course the chairman, I am fully committed to the club and that any links with other clubs are nothing but speculation, and something I am not even thinking about at this time.
I think that’s about as clear as mud. Dembele’s now apparently ‘fully committed’ to Fulham. Whether that means the club would turn down a £12m offer from Spurs for his services, is another question entirely.
12 million would be hard to turn down for sure. While he’s playing a bit better lately, he’s not worth that much in my opinion.
They price Modric at 40 million… and then want Moussa for 12… not acceptable. disrespectful.
although he is not that much i agree… but with their valuing… He wouldn’t get a sniff, unless he improves drastically.

nowhere near the level of the spurs first 11….. players like niko krancjar who is far technically supierior to dembele, cant even get a look in at spurs.
