Martin Jol has revealed that Fulham plan to begin new talks with Andy Johnson over a new contract in the next fortnight.

Stories in the Sunday papers suggested that Jol would allow the 30 year-old to leave Craven Cottage in January should he fail to extend his current deal, which expires in the summer, but the Fulham manager is still keen to retain his in-form striker.

We will have to sit down again and hopefully we can come to a solution. We’ve made him and offer and he’s thinking about it. Our financial people are coming back from a break and will start talking to him in the next couple of weeks.
