You wouldn’t know it from his solid start, but Zdenek Grygera says he’s still coming to terms with the pace of English football.
The Czech Republic defender, signed from Juventus on transfer deadline day, has looked impressive in his brief Fulham career to date – having already played both in the centre of defence and at right back. But he’s adamant he’ll make even more of an impression when he’s up to speed.
The football is different. It’s much faster than Italian football, which is more tactical. I don’t know how long it will take me to get used to it, but I hope it’s not more than one year!
I feel good and am happy with how it’s going so far. My best position is right-back or left-back but I can also play in the centre.
